People visiting the lovely town of Malvern in Worcestershire probably walk straight past this building, having no idea what it actually is.
This is The Theatre of Small Convenience, and in 2002 it entered the Guinness Book of Records as the smallest public theatre in the world.
As the name hints this was originally a gents public convenience, cunningly repurposed as a theatre. Unsurprisingly the speciality here was puppetry but in 2018 the theatre closed its doors altogether, and while a new owner did step in its unclear when or even if they will open again.
This is part of the charm of Malvern, where quaint and often eccentric old buildings lie tucked away along quiet thoroughfares.
