Born in Worcestershire at the heart of the English Midlands, Hugh has spent years exploring the strange places, curious traditions and unexplained tales that lie beneath the familiar landscape of the central counties and beyond. His work draws history, folklore and the supernatural together, exploring the stories that have been passed down through tradition while uncovering the people, places and events behind them.

The author of four books, Hugh is also a regular contributor to television, including appearances on Weird Britain, and had appeared on BBC Radio and numerous podcasts. His knowledge of Britain's lesser-known history and folklore has also led to consultancy work on film and music projects.
